Lloyds Bank have an Employer Supported Volunteering scheme “A Day to Make a Difference” and that’s exactly what a team from their Telephone Banking department did at an older persons’ sheltered home in Cheltenham. The team tidied up the garden, created new borders and painted a summer house, and thoroughly enjoyed their time out of the office despite poor weather,
Rebecca Batson Jones, (Telephone Banking) said: “The Involve Gloucestershire team kept us up to date throughout the process making the whole process stress free”
Andy Griffiths (also from Telephone Banking) said “It was a roaring success. The event was organised at very short notice which is a personal thank you for Bruce for doing that with minimal time and the event was a perfect fit for what we wanted. The request was made and within 48 hours we heard back that an event was in place which exceeded my expectations.
As for the actual event it was exactly what we were looking for and the sheltered home make us feel very welcome and it really felt like a team effort with colleagues mucking in and working together. For future events I would definitely recommend another team to go to there and support such a worthwhile cause and use Involve Gloucestershire’s services again as it was such an easy thing to do”
