Involve Gloucestershire helps group win award

The team at Involve Gloucestershire are delighted to have received some excellent feedback from one of the community projects we support with teams of volunteers.

Graham, a Community Ranger who looks after Cheltenham’s Winston Churchill Memorial Garden and other green spaces, wrote:

“Please give yourselves a pat on the back. Due in part to your recruitment of volunteers and corporate challenge volunteers, we have won the Silver Rose Bowl Award for “Outstanding Community Involvement” at the annual Cheltenham in Bloom Awards. The new Mayor, Cllr Chris Ryder presented us with the award last Friday. Thank you for your involvement with us.

Keep ’em coming please!…….volunteers that is, not necessarily awards.”

Well done Graham and the team – thoroughly deserved for your dedication to preserving Cheltenham’s parks and green spaces.  A mention also to Paish Tooth and Waitrose who have contributed volunteers to the effort as part of their Employer Supported Volunteering programmes, as well as Graham’s team of local residents who continue to support the sites on a regular basis.

Keep up the good work, everyone – and we will certainly keep the volunteers coming!
